9 Appliance-specific information
The appliance specific instructions, as described in this section, have precedence over the instructions in the other
!CAUTION
sections! In case of doubt, observe the instructions in chapter 9, or contact your supplier.
9.1 Placing the fire
When placing the fire, observe the following instructions:
Ø
Determine the location of the fire.
Ø
Place the fire in front of a fireproof wall. In case of a combustible wall, build a 10 cm thick fireproof wall.
Ø
Level the fire at the required height. Mount the metal wall brackets on the appliance and then fasten the fire using
these wall brackets (see appendix 2, fig. 3).
The wall brackets are distancing brackets and do not form a supporting construction. The legs under the fire must
!Caution
bear the weight of the appliance. The weight may therefore not rest on the wall brackets.
Ø
Based on the position of the fire, determine the further connections, such as flue gas discharge, convection
openings and, if applicable, the outside air connection.
9.2 Outside air connection, convection connection, flue gas discharge and air slide
9.2.1 Outside air connection
A provision for an outside air connection has been created. It is located on the underside of the fire.
When mounting the outside air connection, please proceed as follows (see appendix 2, fig. 4):
Ø
Connect the flexible hose (Ø 80 mm) to the round 'pipe opening' of the outside air connection.
Ø
Dispose of unused parts in the appropriate way.
•
If the outside air connection is not used, sufficient aeration does have to be provided.
!Caution
•
The outside air connection provision on the underside of the fire may not be closed, otherwise the fire is
unable to draw in combustion air.
9.2.2 Convection air connection
Proceed as follows when creating a convection air connection:
Ø
Slide a heat-resistant, flexible hose (Ø 150 mm) over the ring and fasten it with a hose clip or a self-tapping screw.
Ø
Connect the flexible hose to a ventilation element in the top of the chimney breast (at least 30 cm below the
ceiling).
These accessories are available through your supplier.
9.2.3 Connection of the flue
The flue can be connected in two ways: via a fixed or permanent connection.
Not all connection methods are permitted in all countries! Install the appliance strictly according to the
!CAUTION
country-specific conditions.
Take the following steps when creating a fixed connection (see appendix 2, fig. 5a):
Ø
Fit the appliance.
Ø
Slide the pipe with reduction in the appliance.
Make sure the discharge pipe does not rest on the fire. This whole pipe must be self-supporting.
!Caution
A draining connecting piece is available for creating a flexible connection.
Proceed as follows (see Annex 2, fig. 5b and 5c):
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe through the chimney.
Ø
Attach the draining connecting piece to the flexible pipe using clip binding.
Ø
Push the flexible pipe including connecting piece back in the chimney.
Ø
Remove the flame baffle plate if it is already in the correct place in the top of the appliance (see section 9.3.2).
Ø
Insert a hand through the flue hole and grasp the connecting piece.
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe with the connecting piece downwards.
Ø
Attach the flexible connecting piece to the appliance by bending the strips (see appendix 2, fig. 5c).
