7. Clean the position of the leak with sand-
paper [21]. Let the air out of the inner
tube. Smear a thin layer of rubber solution
over a surface larger than the patch. Let
the solution dry for 1 to 2 minutes.
8. Remove the separation paper from the
patch. Press it firmly onto the leak [22].
9. Put the inner tube back into position
with the valve holder passing fully and
squarely through the hole in the rim.
Screw the valve nut onto the valve holder
by a few turns, fit the valve internals and
screw them tight [23]. Pump up the inner
tube very slightly.
10. Put the tyre back in place with your
hands [24]. If you use tyre levers there is a
high risk that they will cause a leak. Work

from the valve holder and ensure that the
inner tube does not get trapped between
the rim and the tyre.
11. Push the valve body through the rim
and pull it out again. Bring the tyre up to
full pressure, screw the valve nut down
to the rim and replace the dust cap.
