SAFETY WARNINGS
1) The CO
cartridge included with this kit contains pressurized CO
2
Do Not heat or store at temperatures above 60 °C (140 ° F).

cartridge is Not refillable. Do not refill. Disposable cartridge. Only for use with aquarium.

impaired physical or mental capabilities, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
5) Do Not use for any purpose other than as described below.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1) Make sure that the regulator valve is closed (turn fully clockwise) (A).
2) Thread the regulator to the CO
Caution: Ensure not to cross thread. Place CO
3) To connect regulator to bubble counter/check valve, unscrew and remove clamping nut on side of regulator. Thread one end
of hose through the nut. Push hose onto regulator fitting and screw knob back onto regulator (hand tight) (D). Cut hosing from
regulator to bubble counter. Ensure enough hose is leftover for diffuser installation. Connect hosing to bubble counter/check
valve by loosening tube lock connector with arrow pointing in (located at the top cap) Thread hose onto bubble counter/check
valve (hand tight). Thread remaining hose end onto tube lock connector with arrow pointing out (hand tight) (E).
4) Unscrew bubble counter/check valve, fill with water and close (hand tight). Affix bubble counter/check valve to exterior
aquarium glass using suction cup. For best results, install between regulator and rim of aquarium.
5) To connect bubble counter/check valve to diffuser, push loose end of hose into top portion of CO
Diffuser to inside tank glass (G). Maximum CO
6) Rest or hook CO
cartridge to side of tank (H).

7) Once installation is complete, slowly open regulator until you see bubbles. Adjust bubble rate to 1 bubble every 2 seconds.
For best CO
economy and performance, turn regulator off when aquarium is not illuminated. To facilitate subsequent

use, indicate off and desired CO
to test pH and KH levels regularly and adjust CO
8) Once bubble rate is adjusted, you will see the pressure # on the pressure gage. Please take down this number for future
reference. Note: As CO
cartridge empties, the pressure will lower and periodic adjustments to the bubble rate may be
2
required.
MAINTENANCE
When the pressure gage in front of the regulator indicates "0" this is an indication that the CO
be. Once the CO
cartridge becomes empty it must be removed and replaced, but before doing so, make sure that the regulator
2
valve is closed. The CO
cartridge provided with this kit is disposable and recyclable. Replacement CO
2
reputable pet retailers. To ensure proper performance of the system, we recommend replacing only with Fluval CO
(Item# 17555 - 1pack / #17556 - 3pack). To replace CO
The ceramic disc can become clogged. For proper operation, replace ceramic disc on diffuser regularly (Item #17549).
