Setting driving energy
Select the energy setting that suits the application. If no empirical values are available, always start with the
minimum driving energy. Increase driving energy step by step until the fastener is driven correctly.
For detailed information, request a copy of the Hilti 'Direct Fastening Technology Manual' or the
corresponding local Hilti 'Technical Guide to Fastening Technology' from your Hilti Store.
1. To increase power, turn the adjusting knob for driving energy in the + direction.
Energy levels:
•
1 = lowest energy
•
4 = highest energy
2. To reduce power, turn the adjusting knob for driving energy in the − direction.
3. Check whether the fastener was correctly driven in accordance with the operating instructions of the
fastener.

1. Set the lever of the X-76-F-HVB fastener guide to position 1.
2. Insert a fastener.
3. Position a shear connector on the fastener guide (1).
4. Position the fastening tool.
5. Hold the fastening tool perpendicular to the base material and press the fastening tool against the surface
until it is fully compressed (1).
6. Press the trigger to drive the fastener (3).
7. Cycle the fastening tool with the cycling grip (4).
▶ Repeat the steps to secure another shear connector.
If you want to drive a second fastener in the same shear connector, set the lever of the X-76-F-
HVB fastener guide to position 2 and repeat the steps.
