•
Keep yourself and nearby people out of the plane of the rotating grinding wheel. The protective hood
is intended to protect the operator from fragments and accidental contact with the grinding wheel.
•
Use only bonded, reinforced or diamond-coated cutting discs for your power tool. Just because you
can attach the accessories to your power tool does not guarantee safe use.
•
The permissible speed of the tool must be at least as high as the maximum speed indicated on the
power tool. Accessories that turn faster than permitted can break and fly around.
•
Abrasives may only be used for the recommended applications. For example: Never grind with the side
surface of a cutting disc. Cutting discs are designed to remove material with the edge of the disc.
Lateral force on these grinding wheels can break them.
•
Always use undamaged clamping flanges of the correct size and shape for the grinding wheel you
have selected. Suitable flanges support the grinding wheel and thus reduce the risk of the grinding
wheel breaking.
•
The outer diameter and thickness of the insert tool must match the dimensions of your correspond
to the power tool. Incorrectly dimensioned insert tools cannot be adequately shielded or checked.
•
Grinding wheels and flanges must fit exactly on the grinding spindle of your power tool. Insert tools
that do not fit the power tool's grinding spindle rotate unevenly, vibrate very strongly and can lead
to loss of control.
•
Do not use damaged grinding wheels. Check the grinding wheels for chips and cracks before each use.
If the power tool or grinding wheel falls, check to see if it is damaged or use an undamaged grinding
wheel. When you have checked and inserted the grinding wheel, keep yourself and other people in the
vicinity of the rotating grinding wheel and let the device run at maximum speed for one minute.
Damaged grinding wheels usually break during this test period.
•
Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on the application, use full face protection, eye
protection or safety glasses. Where appropriate, wear a dust mask, hearing protection, protective
gloves or special apron that keeps small grinding and material particles away from you. Eye protection
must protect against foreign objects flying around that arise in various applications. A dust or respirator
mask must filter the dust that is created during use. If you are exposed to loud noise for a long time,
you may experience hearing loss.
•
Keep other people at a safe distance from your work area. Anyone entering the work area must wear
personal protective equipment. Fragments of the workpiece or broken insert tools can fly away
and cause injuries even outside the direct work area.
•
Keep the connecting cable away from rotating tools. If you lose control of the device, the connection
cable can be cut or caught and your hand or arm can get into the rotating tool.
•
Regularly clean the ventilation slots of your power tool. The motor fan draws dust into the housing
and a large build-up of metal dust can cause electrical hazards.
•
Do not use the power tool near flammable materials. Do not use the power tool if it is on a flammable
surface such as wood. Sparks could ignite these materials.
•
Do not use tools that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants can result in an
electric shock.
