ATS1830 is a 1 Mb expansion.
Upgrading the memory of ATS3000/4000
When upgrading the standard memory to expansion memory
the following information will be lost:
•
All users
•
All door groups
•
All floor groups
•
All history
Make a hard copy of all the above information before
installation. The ATS1830 memory expansion is a special
option installed into the ATS3000/4000 control panel to
increase the memory capacity as detailed below.

- Users 1 to 200 have 16
characters for user name.

Installing the memory expansion
1.
The user database will be lost when memory expansion is
fitted. Make notes of programming in users, doors and
floor groups.
2.
Ensure that the unit is powered down (mains and battery).
3.
Carefully remove the memory expansion chip from its
packaging, taking extreme care that none of the pins on
the chip get bent.
4.
Take note of the orientation of the chip. The notch on the
screen-print of the ATS1830 and the RAM socket must
align at the same end. This notch indicates PIN 1 (see
figure).
Carefully insert the chip into the socket labelled "RAM"
making sure that all of the pins fit firmly in the socket and
none are bent under.
5.
Re-check the orientation of the chip in the socket and then
reapply power to the unit.
Caution:
Measures should be taken to prevent static
discharge when installing this device. A conductive wrist strap
should be worn and connected to 0 V/Earth of the unit. i.e.
"BATT−" or "AUX PWR−" terminal. If a wrist strap is
unavailable, touch a control panel 0 V terminal before
commencing and avoid touching the pins of the chip as much
as possible.
