7. Operation
7.1 Connection to the measuring station
• After the batteries are inserted, the base station automatically
searches for a connection to the measuring station and carries
out the initial setup routine.
Note
• Initial setup takes around 3 minutes.
• The measuring station radio symbol (19) ashes when
searching for a connection.
• Avoid any operation of the buttons during this time!
Otherwise, errors and inaccuracies may occur in the values
and their transmission.
• The process is nished as soon as the indoor and outdoor
measurement data are displayed.
Note - faulty transmission of the measured
values
• In some cases, interference caused by a WiFi network,
computer, TV, etc., for example, may cause the transmission
of measured values between the base and measuring
station to fail.
• If this happens, resynchronise the stations by brie y removing
the batteries from both stations and reinserting them.
• If the measured values are not transmitted again, replace the
batteries with new ones.
• If necessary, choose a new location for the base station to
avoid the possible interference signals in the future.
• The measuring station and base station must not be placed
more than 30 metres apart from each other.
• Stay at least 2.5 m away from interference
7.2 Channel selection / Additional outdoor sensors
Note
• You can install two further outdoor sensors in addition to the
outdoor sensor supplied. When doing so, ensure the same
channel setting on the base station and each outdoor sensor.
• Suitable outdoor sensors can be found at www.hama.com
• Channel 1 is pre-selected.
• Press the Down button (C) repeatedly to set the same channel
as on the outdoor sensor in question. Channel 1, 2 or 3 is
displayed.
• If the
symbol appears, the weather station automatically
changes the channel display every 5 seconds. As soon as the
required channel is displayed, press the Down button (C)
again to store it.
• To change the channel on the measuring station, open the
battery compartment and set the channel switch (28) to the
same channel as the base station.
7.3 Automatic setting according to the DCF signal
• After successful transmission of the indoor and outdoor
temperatures between the measuring and base stations, the
weather station (after around 3 minutes) automatically starts
searching for a DCF signal. The DCF radio symbol (7) ashes
during the search process. This can take a further 7 min.
• When the radio signal is received, the date and time are set
automatically.
Note
Language and time zone are preset to Germany.
Note - setting the time
• If no DCF radio signal is received within the rst few minutes
of the initial setup procedure, the search is terminated. The
radio symbol disappears.
• In the event of reception problems, we recommend leaving
the clock standing overnight since the interference signals
are generally fewer in number at this time.
• Meanwhile, you can carry out a manual search for the
DCF radio signal at a different location or set the date and
time manually.
• The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF
radio signal daily (01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:00).
Once the signal is received successfully, the manually set
time and date are overwritten.
If the weather station does not receive the DCF signal, press the
Down button (C) for at least 3 seconds to start the signal search
again. If a signal is still not received after that, the time and date
must be set manually.
7.4 Manual setting of the time, date and units
• Press and hold the Mode button (A) for around 3 seconds to
carry out the following settings in sequence:
• 12/24-hour format
• Time zone (0-12, default "0" for CET)
• Hours
• Minutes
• Month/day or Day/month
• Year
• Month
• Day
• Weekday language (GE= German, EN = English, DA= Danish,
DU= Dutch, IT = Italian, SP= Spanish, FR= French)
• Air pressure in hPa or Hg
• Press the Up button (B) or Down button (C) to select the
individual values.
• Con rm the selection by pressing the Mode button (A).
• Press the Mode button (A) to transfer the displayed setting
value and skip to the next one. If no entries are made for 20
seconds, the clock automatically exits settings mode.
