Wiring
• Note the installation and construction guidelines according to EN 60079-14 as well as the country-specific guidelines while
laying the cables and during wiring.
• In situations in which the temperature at the cable or at the cable entry of the housing exceeds 70 °C or if the temperature at the
wire branching point exceeds 80 °C during operation, the temperature specifications of the cables must comply with the actually
measured temperatures.
• You must ensure the strict separation of intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe wires during wiring. Lead these into separate
cable channels.
• Use cable type A e.g., PB FC Process Cable (blue), 6XV1830-5EH10 as the bus cable.
Commissioning
• Note the national guidelines during commissioning.
• Functional checks must comply with the guidelines of the European standard EN 60079-17.
The regulations of the international standard IEC 60079-17 are included herein.
Special conditions for safe application
1.
Only for connection to a supply circuit with a maximum transient voltage of 44.8 V.
2.
The devices may only be operated in an area with contamination level 2 or better according to IEC 60664-1.
3.
Due to low mechanical danger, the cable entries of thread size M16 are to be provided with mechanical impact protection
according to IEC 60079-0, cl. 26.4.2.
4.
For the cable entries with protection class Ex tc, it has to be ensured that an additional seal ring is used which is suitable for
the temperature range.
5.
For the active field distributor AFD4 Railmount without housing (6ES7 655-5DX40-2AA0): The device is to be installed in a
suitable housing offering a protection level of at least IP54 according to IEC 60079-0.
6.
The coated housing must not be used in areas for applications of group III, which are influenced by charge-generating
processes, mechanical friction and separation processes, electron emission (e.g., close to electrostatic coating systems) and
pneumatically conveyed dust.
Maintenance
The component is maintenance-free. For repair, you have to return the component to the place of production. The repair may only
be carried out there.
