use the kettle. Keep these
operating instructions in
a safe place and enclose
them with the kettle when it
is handed on.

INTENDED USE

This kettle is intended to
be used exclusively to heat
water (not milk, instant
drinks, etc.) on a domestic
scale. If the kettle is used
in a manner other than
its intended use, or if it is
incorrectly operated, severe
injuries may occur or the
kettle may be damaged. All
warranty and liability claims
will be rendered null and
void in this case.

FUNCTIONS

The kettle allows you to
heat water to four pre-
defined target temperatures
(70 °C, 80 °C, 95 °C and
100 °C).
Your kettle has a lime-scale
filter to prevent lime­scale
deposits from inside the
jug being poured out with
the water. The kettle also
features boil-dry protection
to prevent it from overheat-
ing if the water in the jug is
below the minimum fill level.

BEFORE USING THE
APPLIANCE FOR THE
FIRST TIME
• Remove the appliance
carefully from the packag-
ing. Remove all packaging
components and keep them
in a safe place along with
the packaging itself.
• Place the base (2) on a
flat, non­slip dry surface
close to a mains socket.
• Unwind the mains
cable (1) to the required
length.
• Keep any excess length
of mains cable stored in the
cord storage compartment
provided on the underside
of the base, and pass the
cable through one of the
two cord exits.

Plug the mains cable
into the socket.
• Open the lid of the jug (3)
by sliding the index finger
under the lid release (7),
pulling it up and holding it
with the thumb.
• Before using the kettle
for the first time, clean it as
described under
"De­scaling the jug".
USING THE APPLIANCE
Preparation
Note:
Condensate may form on
the base. This is a normal
physical process and does
not indicate any damage to
your kettle.

Plug the mains cable (1)

into the socket.
• Open the lid of the jug (3)
by sliding the index finger
under the lid release (7),
pulling it up and holding it
with the thumb.
• Fill the jug with the
desired quantity of clear
water. Note the minimum
and maximum water levels
(marked with "min." and
"max." on the water level
indicator (5)).
• Close the lid.

Place the jug on the
base.
Heating water
• Press the required tem-
perature button (4.1 - 4.4)
on the base (2) to switch
the kettle on. The LED on
the active temperature but-
ton starts to flash and the
kettle heats the water.
CAUTION: Risk of burns:
– Never open the lid of the
jug while the kettle is in
the process of heating
water, as hot water may
splash out.
– When the kettle is
heating water, the outer
surface of the jug may
get very hot. Always use
the handle to hold the
kettle.
Once the target tempera-
ture is reached, the LED
stops flashing and the kettle
switches off automatically.
