Problem
White smoke
comes out of the
appliance.
Fresh chips are not
evenly fried.
Fresh chips do not
go crisp.
Fault code "E12" or
"E2" is shown on
the display.
Possible cause
The food is very fatty.
The fryer pan (3) still
contains oil/fat residue
from a previous cooking
process.
The chips have not been
sufficiently soaked.
The variety of potato is
unsuitable.
The potatoes are too
moist.
The internal temperature
sensor in the appliance
reports a fault.
Troubleshooting
During preparation, fat from
these extremely fatty foods
drips into the fryer pan (3).
The fat causes a higher tem-
perature than usual to devel-
op in the fryer pan (3) – this
does not impair the appliance
or the cooking result.
Oil/fat residue burns in the
frying chamber. Clean the fry-
er pan (3) after every use.
Place the chips in cold water
for around 30 minutes to re-
move the starch. Dry the chips
using kitchen paper before
adding to the fryer pan.
The crispiness is dependent
on the water and starch con-
tent of the variety of potato
used and the quantity of oil.
Dry the potatoes carefully and
cover them with about 1/2 ta-
blespoon of oil.
Cut the potatoes into small-
er pieces.
