The floor should be wooden,
concrete, or tiled. If the floor
is covered with synthetic
material, the relative humidity
should be at least 30%.
The mains frequency magnetic
field should be at a level
consistent with a typical
commercial or hospital
environment.

Portable radio communication devices
should not be used in the vicinity of any
part of the thermometer, including cables,
at a distance less than the recommend-
ed distance, calculated from an appropri-
ate equation matched to the transmitter
frequency. Recommended distance:
80 MHz to 800 MHz
800 MHz to 2,5 GHz
where P is the maximum output power
rating of the transmitters in watts (W) as
given by the transmitter manufacturer, d is
the recommended distance in metres (m).
The field strength from fixed radio
transmitters, determined by measuring the
electromagnetic interference of the terrain,
should be less than the compliance level
for each frequency band. Interference may
occur in the vicinity of equipment marked
with the following symbol:
