This service information describes the connection of the IntelliBridge to the Puritan Bennett 840
ventilator.
Data communication
The IntelliBridge EC10 module supports RS232 serial data communication with the following
specifications for connection with the external device
To configure the RS-232 ports, follow the steps described in the System Operator's and Technical
Reference Manual of the Puritan Bennett™ 840 ventilator.
Use the following settings in the "Current Communication Setup" screen:

Instruction for connection
Connect the IntelliBridge EC5 D-Sub 9-pin female connector to one of the three RS232 connectors of
the Puritan Bennett 840 ventilator as shown in the photo below. Make sure to tighten the screws of he
connector properly.
