lower leg
Intended purpose
The compression system is designed to
provide compression to the lower leg for
patients with venous disorders. The leg-
ging consists of a series of juxtaposi-
tioned, inelastic bands extending from
the central portion of the wrap. The wrap
contours the leg and is designed to cover
from just above the ankle bone to just
below the knee.
Indications
• Chronic venous insufficiency
- Varicose veins
- Lipodermatosclerosis
- Venous leg ulcer/Mixed leg ulcer
• Acute DVT
• Deep vein thrombosis/Thrombosis Pre-
vention
• Post Thrombotic Syndrome
• Post Sclerotherapy
• Dependent oedema
Contraindications
• Severe Peripheral Arterial Disease
• Uncontrolled Congestive Heart Failure
• Septic Phlebitis
• Phlegmasia Cerulea Dolens
• Untreated infection
• Any circumstance where increased ve-
nous and lymphatic return is undesira-
ble
Risks / Side effects
• Mild to Moderate Peripheral Arterial
Disease
• Impaired Sensation - must be able to
sense applied pressure
• Intolerance to material(s)
• Pediatric & assisted use - must be able
to sense & communicate applied pres-
sure
Intended users and patient target
groups
Healthcare professionals and patients,
including persons who play a supporting
role in care, are the intended users for
this device, provided that they have re-
ceived briefing on this from healthcare
professionals.
Patient target group: Healthcare profes-
sionals should provide care to adults and
children, applying the available informa-
tion on the measurements/sizes and re-
quired functions/indications, in line with
the information provided by the manu-
facturer, and acting under their own re-
sponsibility.

with position. Always ensure that the
correct prescribed pressure range is be-
ing applied. Slightly loosen the bands of
the garment for night-time wear. Each
vertical BPS line on the bands may be at a
different location on the leg depending
on the size and shape of the leg. They do
not need to be aligned down the front
center of the leg or in any other specific
location on the leg. If experiencing any
pain, or discomfort, reduce the compres-
sion (mmHg) applied or remove device.
Inform your clinician of your action.
When bands are placed correctly they
should slightly overlap, leaving no space
between bands. Do not tuck bands. The
Velcro tabs should never touch the skin!

Donning the circaid compression anklet.
First fold the bottom part of the circaid
undersleeve over the bottom edge of the
lower leg component (5i). Slide the cir-
caid compression anklet onto the foot
and ensure that it is pulled high enough
so that it overlaps with the circaid juxtal-
ite garment. Ensure that there are no

black side of the material should face
the skin. Unroll the top two bands and
loosely secure them to the outside of
the garment to anchor the legging in
place. This enables you to easily raise or
lower the garment for correct positio-
