5) Refill the appliance with water up to the MAX mark, and then bring it to the
boil . When done, pour this water away also .
6) Rinse the kettle out with clear water .
The appliance is now ready for use .

Boiling water

RISK! ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Never place the electrical base 4 close to water – this would be a
potentially fatal risk!
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Always use freshly drawn water . Do not consume any water that has
already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour . Do not reboil water
that has cooled down . Always pour old water away . Microbes could have
formed in it!
NOTE
Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch
the mains plug is unplugged and the appliance is standing on the base 4 .
If not, the device could heat up unintendedly as soon as the mains plug is
plugged in again .
1) Lift the kettle off of the base when filling it!
2) Press the release button 1 and open the lid .
NOTE
When filling it, hold the kettle upright . This is the only way to read the
markings on the scale 2 correctly .
3) Fill the jug up to no more than the MAX mark with water .
4) First close the lid, then place the kettle on the base 4, so that it sits securely
on the base 4 .
5) Now insert the plug into the mains power socket .
6) Push the ON/OFF switch
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
For safety reasons you should not open the lid when the water is boiling or
extremely hot . There is a risk of scalding .
7) The light in the ON/OFF switch
heating up .
