In the event of scale deposits
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy
consumption and reduce the service life of the appliance .
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent .

Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e .g . for coffee
machines) . Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the
decalcifying agent .

After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water .
Inserting/removing the scale filter insert
The spout of the kettle is fitted with a scale filter 6 insert, which can become
clogged with particles or scale over time . To clean the scale filter 6 insert,
simply remove it from the appliance .
1) Open the lid .
2) Hold the scale filter insert 6 lightly on the inside so that it does not fall into
the jug when it is released from its mounting .
3) Press the upper catch on the scale filter insert 6 projecting into the spout
from the front/top . The catch can then be pushed out of the recess and the
scale filter insert 6 is released .
4) Clean the scale filter insert 6 with a slightly moistened dishcloth and under
running water .
5) First insert the scale filter insert 6 with the lower catch in the recess inside
the kettle . Press the upper tab slightly together and slide the upper catch into
the recess provided . Ensure that the scale filter insert 6 clicks into place
properly .
NOTE
►
If scale deposits have solidified in the scale filter insert 6, place the filter in
a water-vinegar so lution with a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours . The scale
deposits will dissolve . Rinse the scale filter insert 6 with plenty of fresh
water .
Storage
■
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it into storage .
■
Wind the power cable around the cable winder 5 under the base 4 .
■
Store the appliance at a dry location .
