11.13.3 Follow these steps to measure USB power:

– The USB adaptor is an optional item.

PRECONDITIONS:
The multimeter is switched OFF.

The USB power supply is de-energised / switched OFF.

The test load is switched OFF (if applicable).

1. Connect the USB adaptor plugs to the corresponding multimeter sockets:
USB adaptor: [5A, COM, V/Ω 48V] → multimeter: [10A, COM, °CHzVΩ]
2. Connect a USB power supply to the USB adaptor "INPUT" (USB-C
ports using suitable cables.
3. Connect the test load to the USB adaptor "OUTPUT" (USB-C
Make sure that the load is switched OFF to prevent arcing when plug-
ging it in.
If a USB power supply with PD (Power Delivery), QC (Quick Charge),
or GaN (gallium nitride) technologies is connected to an "INPUT" port,
the test load must only be connected to the USB-C
Test cables and connected loads must be compatible with the related
power supply technology (e.g., PD, QC, or GaN), otherwise there
may be inaccurate readings or no output.
4. Double-check that the measurement setup is correct.
5. Switch the multimeter ON and then select measurement mode "W".
