10. Maintenance and Service

In order to ensure the safe operation of your model helicopter, regular control and maintenance works
should be carried out.
Check the tail rotor at regular intervals. In case of contact with grass or ground, residues must be removed from the
rotor blades completely. Check the blades of the tail rotor for damages each time the latter touches the ground.
Oil the sliding sleeve at the tail rotor shaft in regular intervals. Test the free movement of the tail rotor drive as well as
that of the steering.
Check the head of the main rotor after each flying day. The rubber rings in the rotor head lose their elasticity with time
and must be replaced.
In case of incorrect mounting, the sockets of the linkages can get loose already after a short time and can jump off.
Therefore, check the correct positioning before each flying day.
If the main rotor touches the ground, always check, in addition to the rotor blades, the main rotor shaft as well as the
blade bearing shaft. In this context, always check the free movement of the ball bearing as well.
Due to vibrations, the screw fastenings tend to become unscrewed. Therefore, check the correct positioning of the
screw connections after each flying day. According to experience, this effect occurs especially with metal screw con-
nections.
Also check components that are difficult to check such as toothed belts for the tail rotor drive. The belts must not be
frayed and the teeth should not be worn down. The correct belt tension is present if you can press inwards one side of
the drive belt with the help of a small screwdriver at the front edge of the tail bar for approximately 3 mm without
excessive use of force.
Important!
If you must replace damaged or worn out parts, only use original spare parts in your helicopter.
The spare part list can be found on our Internet site www.conrad.com in the Download domain specific
to the corresponding product.
Alternatively, you can order the spare part list by phone. The contact details are at the beginning of this
operating manual in chapter "Introduction".
