3.6. Operating logic as a PC
The system operating as parallel compression from a selector works without subcooling.
In this case, the ECO2 system should be shut down as described in the previous section.
In this case the system will have a fixed preset pressure SET which will be the reference suction
pressure for the compressors, which in this case will be the vessel pressure.
For start-up in PC MODE, EV1 must be closed, MV1 must be open and the PC/ECO2 compressors must
be stopped.
Start-up must be at 30 Hz and operation must be the same as any compressor operating as parallel
compression.
3.6.1. START-STOP PROCESS IN PC MODE
Shutdown of the ECO2SMART system
3.7. Operating logic as ECO2 off
As for operation without the system from a selector (D_OFF selector signal active), the ECO2 system
will stop working.
In this case, the ECO2 system should be shut down as mentioned in the previous section.
3.8. Suction pressure of the ECO2 compressors
The suction pressure of the ECO2SMART compressors will be variable depending on the GC outlet
temperature and the operating mode of the compressors controlled by the main control unit.
In this case, the suction pressure is regulated by a control algorithm that takes into account the cooling
gas stream temperature and pressure.
3.9. Operation of MT compressors
For the start-up of the ECO2SMART compressors, the % capacity used in the MV compressors must
also be taken into account.
