8. MODBUS COMMUNICATION
8.1. CONFIGURATION OF MODBUS DEVICES
The ECO2Smart controller needs to read certain variables from the regulation controller(s) in order to
operate correctly. The Modbus RTU interface (for Tewis or Carel controllers) or Modbus TCP (for
Danfoss controllers) is used for this purpose.
In order to communicate with the different devices in the Modbus RTU network (Tewis or Carel) such
as the MT control unit or the XVD, it is necessary that the same Modbus RTU communication
properties are configured in all the devices:
Baudrate: 19200
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
The addresses of each of the devices should be as follows:

In the case of the Danfoss control units, an intermediate M2M2 gateway is required, which has a
Modbus RTU and a Modbus TCP interface. The configuration that should be applied to each gateway
is the following:
