ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Attention! Always and only work on the electrical connections when the machine is switched off. The instrument
is equipped with a screw terminal block for connecting electrical cables with a max. cross-section of 2.5 mm2
(only one conductor per terminal for power connections): the capacity of the terminals is indicated on the label
of the instrument. The relay outputs have no voltage. Do not exceed the maximum permissible current; in case
of higher loads, use a contactor with the appropriate rating. Ensure that the power supply voltage corresponds to
the voltage required by the instrument.
The sensor is not characterised by any connection polarity and can be extended using a normal bipolar cable
(please note that the extension of the sensors affects the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) behaviour of the
instrument: wiring must be carried out with care). It is advisable to keep the probe cables, power cables and the
TTL serial port cable separate from the power cables.
LIABILITY AND RESIDUAL RISKS
Tewis Smart Systems is not responsible for the damage caused by:
• installation and use other than that intended and, in particular, installation and use not in accordance
with the safety requirements laid down by the regulations and/or contained in this documentation;
• use in switchgear which does not provide adequate protection against electric shock, water and dust
under the existing installation conditions;
• use in switchgear allowing access to hazardous components without the use of tools;
• tampering with and/or alteration of the product;
• installation and use in switchgear that does not comply with applicable regulations and legal provisions.
EXEMPTION FROM LIABILITY
This document is the exclusive property of Tewis Smart Systems. Its reproduction and disclosure, in whole or in
part, is prohibited without its express written authorisation. Every care has been taken in the production of this

incorrect operation within the warranty period.
It is the installer's responsibility to check the correct functioning of the software implemented in the Free
Advance.
PERMITTED USE
In the interests of safety, the instrument must be installed and operated in accordance with the instructions
supplied and, in particular, parts with dangerous voltages must not be accessible under normal conditions. The
device must be adequately protected from water and dust depending on its application and be accessible only
with the use of a tool (with the exception of the front panel).
The device is suitable for domestic and/or similar refrigeration equipment and has been tested for safety in
accordance with harmonised European reference standards. The device is classified:
• based on its construction, such as an electronic automatic control device for incorporation;
• based on its automatic operating characteristics, as a Type 1 B action control device;
• as a class A device with respect to the class and structure of its software.
UNPERMITTED USE
Any use other than that permitted is strictly prohibited. It should be noted that the relay contacts supplied are
functional and subject to wear: the protective devices provided for by the product standards or suggested by
common sense, in accordance with specific safety requirements, must be installed outside the instrument.
