Checking/adjusting/replacing
spark plug
CAUTION! Worn spark plugs, or
a spark plug gap that is too large, will
lead to a reduction in engine power.
Procedure (Fig. N)
1. Switch off the engine and let the
device cool down.
2. Loosen the wing screw (29).
3. Take off the air filter cover (30).
4. Remove the air filter (31).
5. Pull the spark plug connector (32)
from the spark plug (33).
6. Unscrew the spark plug (33) ⭯
with the combination tool (17).
7. Check the spark plug gap with the
help of a feeler gauge (available
from specialised dealers).
The electrode air gap must be
0,6-0,7 mm.
8. Reset the gap if necessary, by
carefully bending the ground/side
electrode of the spark plug (33).
9. Clean the spark plug (33) with a
wire brush.
10. Reinsert the cleaned and reset
spark plug (33) or replace any
damaged spark plugs with a new
one (Spare parts and accessories,
p. 60).
11. Reattach the spark plug connector
(32).
12. Mount the air filter (31) and air filter
cover (30) again.
Adjusting the carburettor
The carburettor has been precon-
figured for ideal performance at the
factory. If any readjustments are ne-
cessary, have the adjustments made
by a specialist workshop.
Mounting the saw chain and blade
bar
CAUTION! Cutting injuries! Wear
cut-resistant gloves when working
52
with the saw chain or with the blade
bar.
Tools and aids required
• Combination tool
Procedure
1. Switch off the device, discon-
nect the spark plug connector (32)
(Fig. O) and allow the device to
cool down.
2. Place the device on a level sur-
face.
3. Pull the chain brake lever (12) to
the front handle (1).
4. Turn the chain tensioner screw (14)
with the combination tool (17) ⭯
in order to release tension from the
saw chain (9).
5. Unscrew the two nuts (15) on the
sprocket cover (13) using the com-
bination tool (17).
6. Remove the sprocket cover (13).
7. Push the blade bar (10) towards
the chain sprocket (24) and re-
move the saw chain (9) and then
the blade bar (10).
Changing the saw chain and blade
bar
Prior to changing the saw chain,
the groove of the guide rail must be
cleaned of dirt because dirt depos-
its available can cause the saw chain
to break out of the rail. The deposits
can also absorb the chain oil. So the
consequence would be that the chain
oil would not or only a small part of it
would reach the underside of the rail
and the lubrication would be reduced.
Requirements
• Mounting the saw chain and blade
bar, p. 52
Procedure
1. Replace the blade bar (10) and the
saw chain (9).
