4.5. Charging the battery

Heating of the charger during charging may lead to the risk of fire. Only charge the battery in the
e-bike while it is dry and in a place where there is no risk of fire. If this is not possible, remove the
battery and charge it in a suitable place.
CAUTION

• Fully charge the battery before first use.
• Only charge the battery with the original charger. Other chargers may damage the battery or
adversely affect the lifespan and power of the battery.
• Only use a power supply that matches the specifications on the type plate of the charger.
• Place the battery on a clean, dry surface if you are charging it while removed from the bike.
• Ensure that no dirt and/or moisture enters the battery connector.
NOTICE
A sticker with information in English with the following content is attached to the bottom of the
charger: ONLY use with BOSCH Li-Ion batteries!
The e-bike is supplied with a partially charged battery and on-board computer as standard. For an
optimum lifespan, we recommend fully charging the battery and on-board computer before using
the e-bike for the first time.
You may charge the battery to any level. Charging a partially charged battery will not damage

it. You can also partially charge the battery if you wish to use the e-bike before the battery is
fully charged.
The battery has five battery level LEDs b. Each continuously illuminated LED represents 20%
battery capacity. The adjacent flashing LED indicates that the battery is still being charged.
You can charge the battery either detached from or attached to the e-bike:
The battery level LEDs are not visible if you charge the battery in the e-bike. In this case, you

can see the battery level on the on-board computer.
