(*) The term Thermal Runaway refers to an uncontrolled temperature rise of a cell or battery pack, generated by an
exothermic reaction.
NOTE
For the type and location of warning plates attached to the product, see section 4.17. This section lists and
identifies the warning, prohibition and obligation signs with explanations.
1.5 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
The personnel in charge of use and maintenance, who carry out the various activities permitted on the product, must
use personal protective equipment (PPE), in order to prevent all possible risks/damage resulting from the execution of
the various operations, such as:
helmet to protect the head;

safety goggles or mask to protect against splinters, dust or dirt from the process;
•
safety gloves, shoes and/or boots to protect personnel against risks such as crushing, shearing, cutting, etc;
•
Noise-proof earmuffs.

CAUTION
The clothing of those operating or performing maintenance on the product must comply with the essential safety
requirements defined in Regulation 2016/425/EU, Directive 89/656/EC and any laws in force in the country where
the product is used.

Lithium-ion batteries can explode, cause fires or generate undesirable thermal
effects such as 'Thermal Runaway' if disassembled, short-circuited, damaged or
handled improperly. Do not expose to water, fire or high temperatures.
Do not throw batteries into fire and do not expose them to heat sources, such as
heat generated by heaters, flames, lasers, inductive sources, etc.
It is forbidden to use the battery in adverse weather conditions such as rain,
lightning, hail, snow, etc.
Do not immerse the battery in liquids.

It is forbidden to expose the product to any source of direct or indirect heat.
This indicates that the battery was made from materials that can be recycled.
This indicates a requirement for operators and maintenance personnel to
always read the user and maintenance manual (UMM) before any activity
(unpacking, assembly/installation, use, maintenance, etc.) and/or any interaction
with the product.
