3.7 USING THE CHARGER
This section contains general information and rules, which must be strictly followed, for the correct use of the
charger supplied, which is intended only for professional use for charging the batteries provided and permitted.
The charger can be a source of danger if it is handled in an unsuitable manner by untrained personnel or if it is
used in a way that does not comply with regulations.
The charger can be considered to be in a safe condition when the following conditions are met:

The charger is undamaged and the connection cable and plug are in perfect condition.
•
The charger is clean and dry.
•
The batteries are fully inserted into the charging slots of the charger.
Before using the product, check that all of its parts are intact. If any damaged or broken components are found,
do not use the charger and have the product repaired before using it.
The charger may only be serviced and repaired by authorised personnel who have been specifically instructed in
the dangers involved.
DANGER
This product must not be used by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
The charger must not be used by children or persons who are unable to read and understand the instruction
manual, unless they are under the close supervision of a responsible person who can guarantee its safe use
Operate the battery charger indoors in a dry environment protected from rain, ice, snow, wind or high
humidity and within the permitted and expected environmental limits.
The place of use of the charger must be clean, cool, dry and not subject to frost and/or exposure to direct
sunlight or abnormal temperatures beyond those permitted.
Ensure that the area around the charger is adequately ventilated.

Use of the product under conditions other than those listed is not permitted. Also refer to paragraph 4.7 for guidance
on the installation and usage environment.
It is obligatory to touch the connection cable, the extension cable and its mains plug with dry hands,
ensuring that there are no wet and/or damp parts of the body or surrounding areas that could pose a risk to
the person.
Before connecting the charger to the mains, make sure that the charger corresponds to the indications on the
charger (see paragraph 2.2 'Technical data').
For greater electrical safety, it is recommended to connect the charger with a differential switch (30 mA,
30ms).
CAUTION
Ensure that the mains voltage and mains frequency correspond to the specifications on the
charger's rating plate. An incorrect mains voltage or mains frequency can cause an overvoltage in
the charger, which can be damaged.
Keep the charger away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects (including iron
filings and/or metals in general) that could cause a connection between the battery or charger contacts. A short
circuit between the battery or charging contacts may result in burns and fires.
