CAUTION
Never leave the chain slack since it may come out of the bar when cutting causing dangerous situations.
CAUTION
Do not over-tension the chain as the lubrication system may not function properly.
7.1.4 CHECK THE WEAR OF THE CHAIN PINION
Periodically check the pinion for wear.
If signs of wear on the pinion exceed 0.5 mm (0.02 in.), replace the pinion.
Never use a chain with a worn pinion, especially if the chain is new.
Always mount a new chain on a new pinion.
IMPORTANT
The chain pinion must be replaced at an authorised T.A.C.
7.1.5 END OF WORK MAINTENANCE
After use, or in the case of long periods of inactivity, it is prescribed to:
•
Follow the procedure for switching off and securing the tool (see paragraph 6.5).
•
Empty the oil reservoir and close the cap.
•
Remove cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover. Reassemble and clean the tool perfectly.
•
Place the bar cover on the bar.
•
Follow all the maintenance instructions in the manual.
CAUTION
Dismantle the front cover every 20 working hours and remove any cutting residue that could prevent the
tool from working properly.
7.2 SPECIALIST OR EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Extraordinary maintenance operations must be carried out by a mechanical or electrical
maintenance technician depending on the activity to be performed.
Prior to any extraordinary maintenance activity, it is mandatory to secure the product, specifically:
•
Put on puncture/cut-proof protective gloves.
•
Switch the tool off from the ON/OFF switch (10).
•
Disconnect the battery (19).
•
Place the battery in a safe, dry and weatherproof location.
CAUTION
Any extraordinary maintenance other than indicated in 7.2.1, 7.2.2 and 7.2.3 must be carried out at a T.A.C.
