5.2.1 CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTMENT
CAUTION!
Wear protective gloves when handling the chain. The chain teeth are sharp.
CAUTION!
Remove the battery from the tool before performing any work on it. Injury hazard is still present in case of
involuntary operation.
To adjust the chain tension, perform the following operations as listed below:
1)
Loosen the nut (3) that secures the casing so that the bar can shift freely.
2)
Turn the adjustment screw (4) clockwise, until the chain adapts perfectly to the lower part of the bar.
The chain tension is correct when holding the product with the bar in a vertical position:
➢ the chain adheres to the underside of the bar,
➢ the chain can be pulled by hand over the bar,
➢ the chain can be lifted by manually pulling it 3-4 mm in the centre of the bar.
If the chain is too tight, turn the adjusting screw (4) slightly anticlockwise and repeat the operation.
3)
When the adjustment is complete, lock the nut (3) and place the bar cover (23) on the bar.
