4.12.3 DEVICE AGAINST ACCIDENTAL START-UP
The product is equipped with a safety device against unexpected start-up called a 'safety catch' (6), which
consists of a red button that acts as a lock against start-up and engages automatically when the operating lever is
released (7). This is to prevent the chain from starting up in the event of accidental impact.
NOTE
Check the correct functioning of the device against accidental start-up periodically and before each use.
4.13 RESIDUAL RISKS
During the design phase, risk zones or parts were assessed and all necessary precautions were taken to avoid
risks to persons and damage to product components, as outlined in the previous paragraphs.
CAUTION
Periodically check that of all safety devices work properly.
Do not dismantle fixed or movable guards on the product. Do not bring foreign objects or tools into the
operation, working and maintenance area of the product.
Although the product is equipped with the above-mentioned safety systems, some risks remain that cannot be
eliminated, but can be reduced by corrective actions by the end user and by correct operating methods that are
mandatory for anyone operating on the product.
Below is a summary of the risks that remain for the product during normal operation, adjustment and set-up,
maintenance and cleaning.
4.13.1 IMPACT AND CRUSHING
Do not access the moving parts of the product.
Risk present if the guards on the product are removed.
Risk of product components falling off if components such as the battery are not properly secured.
4.13.2 AMPUTATION
The risk of amputation can occur, mainly, as a result of the operator approaching the blades with parts of the
body. The same risk also exists if the guards on moving parts have been removed.
Before starting-up the product, make sure there is no maintenance work being carried out on it.
CAUTION
It is absolutely forbidden to remove the guards or open parts of the product fitted with covers or inspection
hatches with screws, without first stopping the product and removing all its power sources.
