7.2.1 CLEANING THE CUTTING BAR AND LUBRICATION HOLES
In order to keep the bar and chain efficient, it is necessary to keep the lubrication system clean of all cutting
residues (sawdust).
First proceed with dismantling the front casing (5), the chain (1) and the bar (2) according to the procedure
indicated in paragraph 7.1.3.
Clean the casing (5) and the entire area of the tool under the bar, paying particular attention to the oil distributor
(A).
Use a brush to remove all traces of dirt on the bar:
- Clean the groove of the bar with the dedicated scraper.
- Clean the lubrication holes
7.2.2 SHARPENING THE CHAIN
CAUTION
To sharpen and service the chain, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The chain must always be properly sharpened. If the chain is sharpened, it penetrates the wood on its own and
produces large and long chips.
Sharpen the chain when one of the following situations occurs:
- the chain does not cut without pressing the cutting bar against the wood and produces very fine sawdust;
- if the cut does not produce sawdust, the chain is completely blunt and pulverizes the wood while cutting;
- the pruner "stutters" while cutting.

E = Right link cutter
F = Left link cutter
G = Depth limiter
H = Drive link
CAUTION
The chain teeth are sharp, operators may cut themselves. Put on heavy-duty work gloves.
